SOAP FLOW PACK
Soap flow pack machines are used to wrap large quantities of solid soap bars with economical polypropylene film supplied from a reel. The film is sealed longitudinally and transversally to produce individual packages for mass-market soap bars.

Soap Flow Pack
Flow pack machines are used to individually wrap large quantities of soap bars using a low-cost packaging system. In the soap industry, they are mainly used for mass-market soaps where reducing the final packaging cost is an important requirement.
Flow Pack Packaging for Soap Bars
Flow pack packaging is one of the simplest and most economical ways to wrap soap bars.The packaging material is normally Polypropylene (PP) film supplied from a reel. Polypropylene is less expensive than some other packaging materials, making flow pack particularly suitable for mass-market soap bars where packaging cost needs to be kept low.The wrapping film can be either transparent or printed, allowing the soap manufacturer to choose between a simple transparent package and a printed package carrying the required graphics.
How a Soap Flow Pack Machine Works
A flow pack machine is mainly composed of a chain with pushers. The pushers move the soap bars towards the wrapping area, where the polypropylene film is formed around the product. The film moves in the same direction as the soap bar. A longitudinal sealing system seals the film around the soap, creating the main longitudinal seal of the package. The two ends of the package are closed by a transversal sealing system. Knives simultaneously seal and cut the polypropylene film, producing the individual wrapped soap package.

  • Printed
The choice depends on the desired appearance of the finished soap package and the packaging requirements.
Flow Pack for Mass-Market Soap
In the soap industry, flow pack machines are mainly used for mass soaps. The relatively simple machine construction and the low cost of polypropylene film make flow pack packaging particularly suitable when the objective is to reduce the final price of the soap bar. Flow pack therefore represents a different packaging solution from individual soap wrappers, which are generally used for other types of soap bars and packaging presentations.

A typical flow pack operation can be summarized as:
Soap Bar → Infeed Chain → Wrapping Film → Longitudinal Sealing → Transversal Sealing & Cutting → Wrapped Soap Bar
The soap enters the machine through the pusher chain, the polypropylene film is formed around the bar and the longitudinal and transversal sealing operations create the individual package.
